This place gives you real oaxacan Mexican Food. The plates and platters are fantastic and fresh you can see them making it right before you. They use many traditional spices you don’t normally see around here and makes the flavors and experience very unique and worth your time.
Expensive but Good food and strong drinks. Tried the 3 mole and chicken mole dishes. Had the Gertrude and El Tule Margaritas. I liked the El Tule better. Fast service. The ambience is nice inside. At least on Tuesday morning there was plenty of street parking.

After a long day "road trippin"...good Mexican food never fails. Score one for us, as this place serves up some very good food. It was busy inside, but we didn't have to wait, and we had no reservation... lucky us. Good flavors, not too spicy, and the service was spot on. We started off with 2 ice cold beers and some molotes with chips and some killer sauces. My Chili Rellano mole style, was delicious. It was a great choice!
Girls night out before a show at the Paramount. Can’t beat the location a block away. Service was stellar: attentive and fast, our server made sure we make it to our show. The standout dishes are the carnitas mole. These guys really know their fried pork, so flavorful and crispy around the edges. Save room for dessert, the Bunuelos with their dulce ice cream is so unique.
Enjoyed this restaurant. Had tacos with veggies and salad. Atmosphere was very good. Had 8 people in my party and the brought one check. They graciously split them up. Had two appetizers shared with my team.
I visited Agave Uptown for a late lunch and was impressed with the tacos [1-shrimp, 1- salmon]. Both the guacamole and cocktails were excellent. Staff was attentive and professional.
This restaurant was such a treat! Our waiter was top tier, had the best attitude and his attention to detail was superb! We shared some items and everything was DELICIOUS. Loved the decor. We had many drinks therefore our bill was a little high, but great prices overall.
Agave Uptown is such a hidden gem. The food and drinks are outstanding. Definitely try the Tlayuda Mixto with chapulines and a Mezcal drink (Paloma or Jefecito). They are a match made in heaven. Isaac is an incredible host and makes you feel like you are famila!
